The American Society for Bariatric Surgery has recognized
Northeast Georgia Medical Center as a national center of excellence
for bariatric weight loss surgery. The recognition could have
important implications as Medicare and many insurance plans
have become reluctant to pay for weight loss surgery unless
it's performed at a facility with a track record of good outcomes
and minimal complications.

Georgia Medical Center has treated about 1,000 patients since
its opening in 2002. Apart from obesity surgeries, weight
loss can be attained with the help of diet pills such as Phentermine.
