Indian Fry Bread, a curse or a relish

According to a nutritional analysis by the US Department, one paper plate size of Indian fry bread contains 700 calories and 27 grams of fat. It has been stamped as hazardous by the health authorities. Doctors say that fry breads link children to diseases like obesity, blindness, diabetes, amputations and slow deaths.

Fry bread is synonymous with Indian culture. It has been eaten since 1800's. They are made with flour, salt and baking powder. Due to the high intake of fry breads, Type2 diabetes in Indians is more than double when compared to the general population. The Pima Indians in Arizona have the highest diabetes incidence in the world. Most people are addicted to fry breads, fast foods and sugary drinks that health experts have a tough time convincing them about Obesity and its severe consequences which follows.
