A new study on the significance of Yoga reveals it might
help people keep weight off during their middle ages. Yoga
cannot perform the calorie burning tricks of a tread mill
but practicing regular yoga will keep your body more healthy.
Over weight people who took to yoga during their middle ages
lost 5 pounds in a span of 10 years. And middle aged people
who stayed out of workouts or yoga gained 13 ½ pounds
over the same period. Researchers caution the middle aged
men and women to stay in shape as this is the time they can
add extra fat to their bodies easily. Yoga will not burn calories
unless it is practiced strenuously. Yoga assists breathing,
helps cope with stress, improves digestion and make us more
diet conscious. All these are essential ingredients for a
healthy life at middle age.
