It is the brand name of Phendimetrazine produced by Carnrick Laboratories Inc. Bontril acts as an appetite suppressant and central nervous system stimulant. It helps create a feeling of fullness in the hypothalamus and limbic regions of the brain. It is an anorectic drug, which increases your heart rate and blood pressure and decreases your appetite .

The drug is effective when you follow a low calorie diet and good work out regime along with the treatment. Other wise you will regain the lost weight after discontinuing the treatment.

Bontril should be taken an hour before meals. Take it completely for best results instead of chewing or crushing it. Since it can cause insomnia, Bontril should be taken early in the day.
